In Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 phonics is taught in a discrete daily session and also regularly in KS2 nurture groups . It is considered the prime learning approach in early reading and writing. The programme of study that we follow is a combination of 'Jolly Phonics' and the 'Letters and Sounds' programme.
